The Libyan Development and Investment Holding Company is one of the companies of the Economic Development Fund, which was established with a capital of one hundred million Libyan dinars in the form of a joint stock company based on Cabinet Resolution No. 110 of 2006 in accordance with the provisions of the Libyan Commercial Law, Law No. 65 of 1970 and Law No. 9 of 1992 regarding the practice of Economic activities amended by Law No. 21 of 2001 amended by Law No. 1 of 2004. The form of the company was changed from a joint stock company to a holding company in accordance with the decision of the General People’s Committee (formerly) No. (309) for the year 2006 AD, and the capital was raised to three hundred million dinars based on the decision of the extraordinary general assembly on 08/05/2007 AD and in the year 2009 the company was raised The capital amounted to one billion dinars through the meeting of the General Assembly of the Economic Development Fund for the second time and with the expansion of the company’s business and the increase in its growth, the capital was increased to one and a half billion Libyan dinars in the extraordinary general assembly meeting on 5/5/2010. The main activities of the company are centered on real estate investment, general contracting, building materials industry and contributing to the establishment of joint companies with foreign companies with competence in these fields.
